Transfers!!!

I regret to inform everyone that I've been transferred!😭 I'm going to miss Palatka! Definitely my favorite area! I'm getting transferred to Jax Beach though which is completely different than Palatka! Its super wealthy and has one of the PGA golf courses there! Also I'm back with one of my old companions, Elder Roy! I'm excited for that too! I'm also going to be around a ton of my good friends in the mission so it's gonna be a fun time!

Other than that this week was a little weird. It seemed like we couldn't get anyone to talk to us or answer the door. We were able to get one new investigator who is super promising and we found him in a weird way. First we went off-roading in our LOW toyota camry and it got messed up on the bottom! It was kinda weird how it happened but it tore the bottom plastic covering on the car so we went to the tire place to get it fixed so they could take it off because it was just dragging on the road when we drove. So we were waiting there at the place and this guy named Chuck started talking to us and asked us questions about the church and our beliefs. We had a great conversation with him about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon and he said he would love us to come over and talk to him more about it all!

Everything else is going great! Jason is still set to get baptised June 23. I'm sad I won't be there but I'm still super happy he's getting baptised!

I love you all! Thanks for being the best friends and family I could ask for! Keep on keepin on!

Love,
Elder Plumb

Also here are some pictures of a huge turtle we found in the middle of the road! And also we went and saw the gator again and it got really close and started hissing at us!

Another week in the life

Hello everyone! Its been a great and not so great week! First the bad news is Larry and Caroline unexpectedly moved to south Carolina!!! So that kinda hurt at first but now we are really focused on finding new elect people to replace them.

Great news!!! Jason excepted a baptismal date for June 23rd! He still hasn't been to church yet but he really understands everything we teach him and he said it makes his day when we come over. Also with John we are planning on inviting him to baptism tomorrow so that is super exciting! He promised that he would stop smoking and drinking coffee and everytime that he would get the urge to then he would read 5 verses from the Book of Mormon. Those two are progressing really well!

Transfer call is on Saturday and I feel like I'm staying but you never know! I hope I stay! I'll let y'all know next Monday!

Also we saw another alligator this week! It was really small but still really cool! It almost came out of the water! It was also insanely rainy this week and we got super wet one day! It was really fun!

I love you all so much and am very thankful for all the prayers and love and support I get from y'all! Keep on keepin on!

Love,
Elder Plumb

Ballin in da hood

Sorry for not sending a weekly last week! We had zone pday so I disnt have too much time. These last two weeks have been amazing though!

First off Elder Andrus and I balled in tthe hood! We were biking around one of the government housing areas and we saw a few black kids playing basketball and we asked if we could play and we destroyed them in all three games we played! They acted super cocky in the beginning but once we started killing them they got really mad at each other, it was pretty funny!

We have made some good progress with Larry and Caroline. They came to church 2 weeks ago for the first time! We were so happy they came! They couldnt come yesterday though because their boss said they absolutely had to that time but they said they would for sure come next week!

Alvin has been doing great! We got him a cd player so that he can listen to the book of mormon and he loves it! We go over there to read with him a lot and he just loves the book of mormon more and more each day! Right now the only thing keeping him from being baptised is hes living with his girlfriend and in the past they havnt wanted to get married so please pray for them to want to get married and also for us to know how to get them to. Thank you!

Our newest progressing investigatoris jason and he is so awesome! He's 17 years old and talked to missionaries in Orlando or a few days when he was visiting his friend and then came back to Palatka and had some things go on in his life that really got him to ask God if he was there and if he loved him and he said right after that we came along. He really loves us coming over and he has tons of questions about everything! He also has some friends that are youth in our ward so that has helped. Right now we just need him to get to church and really understand priesthood authority so please pray for him as well.

Our mission president spoke in our ward yesterday as well. It was a supper good talk! I asked him what it was on before church started and he said he didn't know but he would figure it out when he got up there! Talk about inspiration! He just got up and talked and didnt look down at anything the whole time except to read a few scriptures! I really loved what he talked about towards the end of his talk about when him, his mom, and his dad drove to some lakes one day. His mom has Alzheimers and kept asking him where they were going and he would tell her and after each time he said he started growing more and more impatient. Then his dad could sense his impatience in his voice so the next time his mom asked, his dad would say, "you sweetheart we are going to the lakes to to spend some time together as a family." Then she would ask again and he would say it again except more loving each time she asked. I really liked that story because it shows us how we need to show Christ like love for everyone around us especially those who might get on our nerves. Instead of gradually getting more impatient or more mad, flip it around and get more and more caring and loving towards others. That's how we can get contention out and the spirit in when we follow Christ's example and love everyone no matter what they have done.

I also finally got a lizard to bite my finger! Everyone down here is always catching lizards and hanging them on their fingers or ears and every time I caught one they would never bite me but I finally got one to! It caught me off guard but it was pretty awesome! I'll send pictures!

Also yesterday I got to Skype the fam! It was so great talking with everybody and seeing how they were doing! Shout out to Jesse and his insanely deep voice now! Also jack looks like Peter Parker! They grow up so fast!

I love y'all so much! Don't stop believing! Keep on keepin on!

Elder Plumb
