Hello everybody!
Wow it's been such a great week! We had transfer call this last Saturday! Elder Blanchard and I are staying in Arlington! This is my first time having a two transfer companion finally! I was so nervous because before President Lee started saying who was where, he said that there will be 61 of the 83 companionships getting split up and that there will be 13 white washes (white washes are when two missionaries get transferred into an area and neither of them had been there before). So I thought for sure that I was going to be transferred but I didn't so I'm super happy! Also Elder Lamb who is one of my best buds got transferred into my zone so I'll be seeing him a lot more now!
Thank you so much for the prayers for Wayne! Such a miracle! So bishop went to see him on Tuesday and talked to him. He gave Wayne a lot of money from a member who wanted to remain anonymous to be able to pay for a lawyer and anything else that he needs to be able to get those people out of his house! So awesome! We went and visited him on Friday and he answered the door with his Book of Mormon and he was ready to start reading with us! It was so awesome! He's right back on track!
Also we had another amazing miracle! So we were visiting someone in an apartment complex and as we were leaving we felt like we should stay and walk around for a bit. We ran into this lady walking her dog and she was smoking and drinking coffee. We said hi to her and she was like "oh hello! Sorry I know I'm not supposed to be smoking or drinking coffee!" Apparently she had met with missionaries before a while back and went to church a bunch of times. So her name is Elphie and she is a sweet old lady from Guam who really wants to come back to church and take discussions with us! What a miracle! It's so important to be in tune with spiritual promptings. We added her on Facebook and have been non stop talking to her and sending her spiritually uplifting videos and messages. She can talk forever on Facebook it's crazy! She didn't come to church yesterday though because she is watching over her baby granddaughter who is sick but she will definitely be there next week she said.
Also yesterday I gave a talk in church on prophets, seers, and revelators! I was so nervous and excited at the same time! I found some really awesome stuff on why we should obey prophets and how important they are in our time. Look up the Fourteen Fundamentals in Following the Prophet by Ezra Taft Benson. It's super good and I learned a lot from it.
So many awesome things happened this week! I'm so blessed to be out here experiencing all of this! Serving a mission is truly the best thing ever! There are a lot of frustrating moments but in the end the good out weighs the bad tremendously. I seriously love being a missionary and I love all of you so much and am thankful for everyone's example to me in my life and all that you do.
Love,
Elder Plumb
P.S. here are some sweet pictures that me and Elder Blanchard accidentally took. For some reason my tablet started taking pictures of us so we posed haha!
